The White Mountains Post #2

Beanpole helps Will and Henry on their journey to the White Mountains by making sensible choices since he is the most intelligent person in their group. An example of how he is intelligent is that he read a lot of books and learns English by himself. The reason he wants to go with Will and Henry because Beanpole is smart enough to realize that the Tripods are using caps to control people's mind. With out Beanpole, Will and Henry might not be smart enough to make it to the White Mountains.
Another way Beanpole helps Will and Henry is knowing how to speak french, so he can communicate with the villagers and get them out of trouble. Later on in the story, when they are caught, Beanpole spoke to the people and said Will and Henry is his deaf cousins. If Beanpole weren't there, Will and Henry would be locked up and capped and will have no chance of escaping.
